Kirusa won an HP Global Business Partner Award in March 2007. HP recognized Kirusa as their leading OpenCall partner at a global level during the HP Software meet in Brisbane in March 2007. Kirusa has a global partnership with HP that is driving sales and deliveries in several accounts. According to Jean-Rene Bouvier, General Manager, Open Call Business Unit, HP, “The combination of Kirusa’s Voice SMS and HP Open Call Media Platform is a potent revenue-generating solution that can be delivered in a cost-effective way”.
 

The global SMS messaging traffic is currently growing fast and this trend is expected to continue over the next few years. The global SMS traffic has nearly doubled between 2004 and 2006, driven by strong growth especially in developing markets, to 1.6 trillion messages per year. Over the next three years, the SMS traffic is expected to surpass 2 trillion messages/year. At the same time, growth in SMS revenues is expected to slow down in 2008-2009 due to market maturity and price erosion.

Kirusa has announced the launch of its International Voice SMS service. Mobile Operators can now join in Kirusa’s International Voice SMS initiative to help their subscribers to send personalized Voice SMS Messages to friends, family, and colleagues in more than 40 countries.

 
MTNL launches Convergent Voice SMS from Kirusa
MTNL, the Government owned fixed line and mobile operator in India, with operations in Delhi and Mumbai, has launched the world’s first “Convergent” Voice SMS service for its fixed and mobile subscribers in 2007. The Convergent Voice SMS Service is based upon the patented “Voice SMS” technology from Kirusa, a leading mobile value added services provider based in New Jersey, USA. MTNL fixed line and mobile subscribers in Delhi can now send personalized Voice SMS messages to friends, family and colleagues across MTNL’s mobile and fixed networks within Delhi. This service would also be available to MTNL subscribers in Mumbai shortly. This is a ‘First of its kind’ Convergent Voice SMS Initiative in the World.

 

  Kirusa expands Advisory Board
Kirusa announced that Grant Ferguson and Jaime Robertson-Lavalle have joined Kirusa’s Advisory Board. They join Naveen Bisht, Dr. Ashish Gupta, Manoj Goel, Viren Malaviya, Dr. Lawrence Rabiner and Jeff Ullman on the advisory board. The board now has a blend of some of the best known technical and financial brains in the telecom Industry.

 

  BPL brings Kirusa's Voice SMS to all BPL subscribers in Mumbai
BPL mobile, a leading mobile carrier operating in Mumbai, launched a new Voice SMS service for its users in Mumbai in 2007 that will enable BPL subscribers to send spoken SMS messages to any other mobile subscriber in India.

 

  Kirusa granted Voice SMS patent
Kirusa announced in 2007 that it has been granted a patent on its Voice SMS technology (patent number 7,184,786) by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The granted patent, filed in 2003, covers several aspects of the Voice SMS technology invented by Kirusa that form the foundation of its Voice SMS product offerings. For Kirusa’s customers, the patent provides the basis for Voice SMS, an innovative service that has revolutionized communication between individuals by allowing them to send short voice messages by speaking, just as they send short text messages by typing. The ease-of-use inherent in Kirusa’s Voice SMS paves the way for wide scale adoption of this service, not seen since the success of text SMS.

 

  Warid Telecom launches Kirusa Voice SMS service in Pakistan
Warid Telecom, the fastest growing mobile operator in Pakistan, launched the “Talky” Voice SMS service based upon the pioneering “Voice SMS” technology from Kirusa, a leading mobile value added services provider based in New Jersey, USA in 2007.Hamid Farooq, CEO of Warid Telecom Pakistan, said, “Warid Telecom is committed to provide the most cost effective and innovative value added services to our subscribers.   Kirusa launches International Voice SMS initiative
Kirusa announced the launch of its International Voice SMS initiative in February 2007. Mobile subscribers around the world would now be able to send personalized Voice SMS messages to friends, family and colleagues in other countries, at a fraction of the cost of international voice calls. People would be able to send Voice SMS messages to recipients who may be in different time zones, without a concern for disturbing them.   Kirusa acquires HeyAnita intellectual property assets
Kirusa announced in 2007 that it has acquired all of the intellectual property assets of US-based HeyAnita Inc., including all software, patent applications, and trademarks. The purchased software, which includes the Rapid Messaging Service (RMS) application, HeyAnita’s variant of Voice SMS, further consolidates Kirusa’s leadership in Voice SMS. The purchase adds to Kirusa’s portfolio of mobile value-added services with applications such as Weather Information, Travel Application Suite, Entertainment Application Suite, vGreetings, and Alerts. As part of the purchase, Kirusa has also acquired several patents on Voice SMS and related services across the world. “We are very pleased that HeyAnita applications and patent portfolio are now a part of Kirusa's portfolio of mobile value added services.
