Kirusa named amongst the top 100 technology companies by Silicon India Magazine

Silicon India Magazine, one of the popular business and technology magazine, has named Kirusa, inventor of Voice SMS and the leading developer of value added mobile services, amongst one of the top 100 technology companies in the U.S. founded or managed by Indians. The listing not only represents the continuing rise and glory of Indian entrepreneurship in high-technology, but also identifies companies that have made the VCs and analysts take notice, companies that have created an impact in the market place.

Silicon India is a business and technology magazine published from Fremont, California, which covers business, technology and entrepreneurship. Their current circulation exceeds 70,000 and the readership builds from CIOs, CTOs, CEOs and market influencers like venture capitalists, technology adopters, and analysts.

Silicon India named Kirusa after a rigorous selection process led by their editorial board and a wide array of industry experts, ranging from technologists to venture capitalists, to pick the final 100 companies. The industry experts and the Silicon India team assessed the management team, company performance, and evaluated the potential impact on the industry.

More information on the award is available online at http://www.siliconindia.com/si100_2007/si_100_wireless_new.html.

Kirusa was founded in 2001 based on the idea of improving user interfaces for data services on mobile phones. When Kirusa started out in the U.S., the exposure to the latest technologies helped it to be remarkably far sighted and develop a path breaking innovative application, Voice SMS, which could bring the power of mobile communication to a larger class of mobile users and contexts, allowing users to send messages with voice, without the need for typing. Kirusa’s Voice SMS application has been chosen by more than twenty telecom carriers across the world, and has changed the way people communicate.

On the occasion, Dr. Inderpal Singh Mumick, Founder and CEO, Kirusa Inc., said, “We are honored at being selected. We thank Silicon India Magazine for recognizing the leadership of Kirusa in the mobile value added services space, especially in Voice SMS, and the accomplishments of the entire Kirusa team and our customers. The mobile community can look forward to more innovative solutions from us in the future.”
