of Advisors
Globally Recognized Speech Expert Brings 35 Years of Experience
with AT&T

applications delivery, today announced the addition of Dr. Lawrence
R. Rabiner to the company's Board of Advisors. Dr. Rabiner, who
will advise the company on a wide range of issues, including technology,
strategy, and business development, joins Kirusa from AT&T
Laboratories where he served as Vice President of Research and
directed research programs in communications, computing, and information
science technologies.
Dr. Rabiner joins Kirusa's esteemed Board of Advisors including
Manoj Goel, Internet Junction founder, Ashish Gupta, Junglee and
Tavant Technologies founder, Ajay Jain, Excom founder/President,
Krishnamurty Kambhambati, uReach founder/CEO, Viren Malaviya,

accomplishments, providing wide-ranging experience that will enhance

Dr. Rabiner began his career with AT&T Bell Laboratories
in 1967 after earning his Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of
Technology. Pioneering a number of digital filtering and spectrum
analysis algorithms, he built one of the first speech synthesizers
capable of converting arbitrary text to intelligible speech. His
research efforts resulted in implementation of numerous speech-based
systems across AT&T, fostering high performance, reliability
and significant economic advantages for the company - one such
system leveraging voice recognition has saved the company over
$350 million-per-year while opening significant new revenue opportunities.
Dr. Rabiner joined the newly created AT&T Laboratories in
1996 as Director of the Speech and Image Processing Research Laboratory,
culminating his career as Vice President of Research.
