Kirusa Voice SMS rings 200 million times
Mobile subscribers endorse the Kirusa Voice SMS Solution 200
million times!
New Providence, New Jersey; July 29, 2008: Kirusa, the world’s
leading vendor of Voice SMS and a leading developer of mobile
value-added services, reached a significant milestone in second
quarter of 2008 with users calling into its Voice SMS Solution
for the 200 millionth time.
Kirusa Voice SMS allows people to send SMS messages by speaking.
A user presses the star key (*) followed by recipient’s
number and speaks a short message of up to 30 seconds. The
recipient gets an SMS message from the sender and can directly
dial a number from within the message to access the spoken
message. After listening to the message, the recipient can
reply by voice or by text, or can forward the message.
The popularity of Kirusa’s new mobile messaging has
fueled the company’s global expansion to four continents
with 25 customers in 11 countries, making it the world’s
leading vendor of Voice SMS.
Commenting on the occasion, Ewald Anderl, CTO of Kirusa, says, “The
widespread adoption of the Kirusa Voice SMS platform amongst
mobile carriers and subscribers, corroborated by the 200 Million
milestone, confirms the huge revenue potential of the new mobile
messaging paradigm that Kirusa has pioneered for carriers around
the world.”
“We congratulate Kirusa for achieving this major milestone.
The rise in Voice SMS call volume is evidence of the growing
popularity and acceptability of Voice SMS amongst mobile subscribers”,
said Mr. Ali Ikram, Head of VAS, Ufone Pakistan.
He further added, “A successful value added service
hinges not only on pricing and innovativeness, but also on
ease of deployment and adoption. Voice SMS doesn’t require
network upgrades or new handset purchases, making it easy for
both operators and mobile users to adopt the service.”
