Vinaphone launches Voice SMS for its subscribers across Vietnam on Kirusa platforms

Introduces Say2Send, a user friendly Mobile Voice Messaging Option

Hanoi, Vietnam and New Providence, New Jersey, May 18th, 2009: Vietnam Telecom Services Company (VinaPhone) with the brand of mobile network VinaPhone today launched Voice SMS, Say2Send, across Vietnam. The Voice SMS solution has been sourced from Kirusa, the world’s leading provider of Voice SMS and a leading developer of mobile value added services.

Voice SMS allows subscribers to send messages by voice, eliminating the need to type. Subscribers can communicate faster, with greater ease, and convey emotions as compared to limitations of text messages. Use of Voice SMS by mobile subscribers has spread rapidly across the globe.

Vinaphone subscribers need to dial ‘945’ followed by the mobile number and speak a short message for 30 seconds in the language of their choice. The recipient can directly retrieve a specific message by dialing a DirectListen™ number in the message. He can also retrieve previously listened to voice messages by directly dialing the same DirectListen™ number in the message. Voice SMS messages can be replied to, forwarded, saved, or deleted. Vinaphone subscribers pay a price of 500VND (0.03 USD / 3 US cents approx.) to send the messages within Vietnam. First retrieval of a Voice SMS message is free. Subscribers are charged 1000 VND per message for subsequent retrievals. In addition to this, the subscriber has an option for changing his preferred language by simply dialing “946”

Vinaphone’s Voice SMS service is available to all its prepaid and postpaid subscribers. To deliver the service, Kirusa has deployed its Voice SMS application, integrated with the HP Open Call Media Platform, in Vinaphone’s nationwide mobile network.
